[attr="class","sitepostname"]BEAUTIFUL CREATURES [attr="class","sitepost1"] | FAQ Here is a list of frequently asked questions that you may have. We may add to this as more questions come in to the staff team. Please feel free to contact the staff team if you are still unsure about anything on the site. i. general questions Are there humans in the Beautiful Creatures universe? Has there ever been humans or any form of humans in the past present or future? Sorry, but no. Humans are nonexistent in this kind of universe and they’ll never be existent. Sorry for any inconveniences this may cause you! What is the level of realism here? We are a mixture of realism and fantasy blended into one. We thrive on letting our members flex their creative brain and adding their own unique twists and flavors to their characters. This includes somewhat unnatural appearances, unique traits, ideals, paw based creatives (crudely created jewelry or other) and more. These are all dependent on staff. The more fantasy element, the more likely the ability/feature may cost in terms of forum currency (grubs). Do staff have any ruling over each dynasty? Staff have control over the entire forum, but the way in which each pack runs entirely falls to the King/Queen of the pack. If members have questions relating specifically to a dynasty, consulting the King/Queen is advised. Staff can assist if needed. How long ago was the Great War? The Great War was about 50 or so years ago. What are ranks and how do they work? The ranks here at Beautiful Creatures are default across all dynasties, with 1-2 exceptions for Eleos. Each rank has different expectations - i.e if you are a nanny, you are expected to care for young while if you are a fighter, you are expected to fight and challenge all who cross the borders. For more information on ranks, see here. What level do I start at? All adult characters start at level 2. If you belong to a dynasty and choose to be either a hunter/forager, shaman, or warrior, then this increases to level 3 as you are specialized in a specific area of expertise. If you develop your character, their level can increase as can their rank. See more information here. What is loyalty? How do I earn it? Loyalty is a feature which demonstrates how much authority your character has in a dynasty. This essentially determines whether your hunter is well respected or not. If you have higher loyalty, you are more likely to be considered for higher positions in a dynasty. You can see a more in depth description of loyalty here. You can apply to have loyalty increases and decreases here. What are bonuses? Bonuses are given to certain characters in certain ranks. These bonuses demonstrate skill and experience in either hunting/foraging or fighting. The bonuses are added to your die rolls for hunting/foraging/fighting threads. See here for more information. Is there a way I can quickly find out who plays who? Yup - see here. What are the dynasties like? See their information here. Can I play an adoptable as my first character? You sure can - just apply for the adoptable using your Out Of Character account. All adoptables will require a full bio application anyway. Is there an element of chance at Beautiful Creatures? There is! We use die rolls here at Beautiful Creatures to determine the chance of a character successfully catching prey / sourcing berries or even crashing a private thread. You can see the information here. Some ranks do not need to make rolls - i.e a Shaman as they are already skilled in their field and do not have as much competition for food/dominance. ii. roleplay questions Can my character speak a different language? Yes! Currently, this doesn’t need to be purchased, but should there be an influx in the amount of characters that can speak a different language than we’ll cap it off and you’ll have to purchase this. Can the Dynasties have different species in them besides just canines with canines and felines with felines? Can there be a mixture of felines and canines in a single dynasty? Currently no, however in the future this might change with the addition of a new and different dynasty rising to power. Are all the dynasties the same? No! The dynasties are all very, very different. They all have very different views and perspectives to each other, making each one of them slightly different to roleplay in. Some believe in more Gods than others and some have traditions or ceremonies, while others are more relaxed in their ways. Do I have to join a dynasty? Nope! Only if you want to. The biggest benefit of being a free creature is having the creativity and flexibility to do as you please. It will be harder sourcing enough food to survive as predators and competition will be more predominant in the open wilderness. What am I allowed to roleplay? We have a HUGE list of various creatures you can roleplay. Check it out here! If you see something is missing and would like to request it be added, contact staff via the discord. I don't see black panthers on the allowed species list. Why is this? Black panthers are a blanket term for leopards/jaguars that are melanistic. If you want to make a "panther" - aka a black leopard/black jaguar, you would need to purchase it as melanism is rare. The item COAT OF NIGHT allows you to play a "black panther". The same applies for albinism characters however using the item COAT OF WINTER. Please note: White lions and white tigers are not albino as they still have coloured pigments on their fur. See this image for reference. iii. misc/other I make a lot of artwork or produce unique pictures - can I ‘sell’ these here? Most definitely! We love seeing our members get creative; whether it’s wolf-related or otherwise! If you wish to open up your own store to sell your materials, you will need to purchase the Merchants Desk item in the forum store. Can I advertise the forum? Will I get rewards? You can advertise the site if you would like to! You can see our advertisements in the advertisement section. We do not have a reward in place for general advertising (however keep your eyes open for advertising contests). If you do manage to refer a friend though, let us know in the Discord by tagging all staff and we'll award you 30 grubs. How do I do die rolls? Sometimes, you will see people using a die to roll outcomes of certain fates! There is a "die" icon across the top of every reply button - next to the bold, underline, alignment and other function buttons.
